Candy & Cars at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade

I hadn’t visited Coney Island since junior high school but a few summers back one of my photography groups made plans to visit Coney Island to take pictures at the annual Mermaid Parade. Although, I was born and raised in Brooklyn I’d never heard of the Mermaid Parade but I was told that that there was a car show and decided to tag along.

New York International Auto Show 2012

I had a great time at the 2011 car show and seeing photos from the 2012 Geneva show got me really excited about the 2012 New York International Auto Show. I attended the show on Friday 04/03 and had a good time taking photos.

Cupcakes?

I wanted to practice shooting something in my newly handmade lightbox so I baked some cupcakes at home and made a valiant effort to frost them in a semi-decent manner. I shot the photos with a simple table-top setup using a handmade light tent and lamp. The cupcakes got me thinking…
