Chinatown & Jing Fong Dim Sum

On a street photography tour of the area I discovered that there are several interesting side streets off of Canal populated with a wealth of signs and stores that will make you forget you’re in New York. After a long day of taking photos (it was more like 2 hours but you get the point) I grabbed lunch at Jing Fong Restaurant and then ventured into Little Italy for the Feast of San Gennaro (sorry no pictures).


Big Apple Barbecue (BBQ) 2010

Once a year restaurants from around the country gather in New York City’s Madison Square Park for the Big Apple BBQ. The BBQ is a weekend long block party where slabs of ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, brisket, and sausages are served up to thousands of New Yorkers.


Architecture & the streets of Downtown Manhattan

As a lifelong New Yorker that attended high school in lower Manhattan, I thought that I’d explored the majority of what the area had to offer. However, last May I ventured forth with a photography group and found that I’d passed several hidden gems countless times without being aware or paying much attention to their existence.


The most wonderful time of the year
