How-To Series: Hand Rolled Cigars by Arthur Ave Cigars
I’d heard great things about Arthur Ave Cigars before my visit to Arthur Avenue. I’ve never tried smoking a cigar (and most likely never will) but it was very impressive to see the degree of skill exhibited by the workers as they hand-rolled cigars in full view of patrons.
- Step 1: Roll loose tobacco leaves into cigar shape
- Step 2: Place pressed tobacco leaves on flat leaf cut to size
- Step 3: Tightly roll flat leaf around pressed tobacco leaves
- Step 4: Trim excess pieces of leaves
- Step 5: Make sure its perfect

I don’t smoke either (smoking is disgusting) but watching them roll the cigars was a bit tempting. I was able to hold out on the cigars but my will power vanished when I saw the pastries at the bakery next door. I think it was a fair compromise.
